How can I be sure what will fit my yard?

We recommend that a quick measurement is taken of the area that you are thinking of placing the play set in prior to shopping. Your salesperson will help you design a set that works for that area. We offer an at-home site survey for a small fee.

What is the appropriate age for my children to have a swing set?

Children of all ages can use playground equipment. The average age is 1-10 yrs old.

What is the Treated Pine treated with?

Copper boron azole, or CBA, has been used in parts of Europe as a substitute to CCA since the early 1990s and can be found today in 19 countries. Copper is the principal ingredient, protecting wood against termites and fungal decay. Organic azole, a secondary ingredient that is used in fungicides and applied to fruits, peanuts, and other crops, adds an extra layer of defense, shielding timbers from copper-tolerant pests. A third ingredient, boric acid, offers supplement protection. CBA has many advantages over CCA. For one, none of the preservative’s chemicals are considered hazardous by the EPA. CBA-treated wood is clean to the touch, non-corrosive to metal hardware and provides long-term resistance to termites and fungus. It can be used in countless outdoor applications, such as decks, picnic tables and swing sets.

Is the cedar treated?

No, naturally cedar is a hardwood and is very insect resistant & water resistant and does not need to be treated.

What type of maintenance is needed to preserve my swing set?

Wood swing sets need to maintained annually. Applying a water sealant will protect the wood from water & sun damage. The hardware needs to be tightened at least once a year as well as re-staking the base into the ground. We offer services for this.

Does the PVC require any maintenance?

No.

Sheds & Structures

Do I need a permit to own a shed, garage or gazebo?

All towns and villages have different requirements to own a storage shed or garage. Wood Kingdom can provide any of the necessary paperwork needed to obtain a building permit when required.

How long does it take to get my shed?

Depending on the time of the year the sheds can and will take anywhere from 3-10 weeks. We try to give the best time frame based on when you place your order. Though variants directly out of our control (weather, trucking, manufacturing delay) may affect your delivery time frame without notice.

How is the shed delivered?

All of our sheds are in kit form and built on your property.

How level does my property need to be?

We always prefer that the ground is level. We will work with a grade of up to 6″ with the purchase of our patio block leveling system. If your property needs to be leveled we offer all services, ask your salesperson for more info.

Is Wood Kingdom licensed & insured?

Yes, we are licensed and insured to work on Long Island.

Solar Energy

What happens when there is not enough Sun light?

When a home owner switches to Solar they are auto enrolled into NET metering with PSEG. This is a 20yr agreement that allows the excess Power that their System produces to be exported to the utitity company and is returned to the home when the sun is not strong enough.

Fences

Do I need a permit to have a fence installed?

All towns and villages have different requirements to have a property or pool fence installed. Wood Kingdom can provide any of the necessary paperwork in helping you obtain a permit.

How long does it take to get a fence Installed?

Depending on the time of the year the Fences can take anywhere from 3 days -3 weeks. We will discuss & choose dates with you based on when you place your order and what your fence order calls for. Though variants directly out of our control (weather, trucking, manufacturing delay) may affect your delivery time frame without notice.

How is my fence delivered?

All of our fences are shipped in pallet form & erected on your property. Most jobs will have a Job Site Delivery the day prior to installation.

How level does my property need to be & what if there are trees & bushes?

Our professional installation crews have many years of experience and knowledge on how to install fencing with grade changes. Fencing can be installed with a rolling effect (following the grade and contour of the property) or stepping (where the sections step in height). We will work with the landscape as best as possible; trees can be boxed out or the fence can be modified to work any landscape design. If your property needs to be leveled or cleared we offer all services, ask your salesperson for more info.
